I don't see anyone asking ths question so..... would it be possible to use a sandy bridge processor (2700k) in one of these builds ? my computer got destroyed in a transport. And the only part left alive was the processor.

Yes, but expect additional issues if you get a 7-series boards. 6-series boards are still widely available and I'd suggest getting one of the models that have UEFI BIOS upgrades available from Gigabyte.

It might not be a bad idea to put an asterik beside the 560TI card as well, many are having issues with startup where screen goes black and you lose the video signal. Takes several tries (shut done and start again) to get it working, lots of ideas and working through them but so far no luck (for me, some have better results).Check the forums. Restart and sleep are fine. GA-Z77X-UP5TH, Asus 560Ti, i5-3570K, Corsair Ram (BTW, for some reason did have to take all out except 4 GB stick to get to installer, never had to on SL or Lion, go figure).

Thanks for the guides, ML was easiest install yet other than the 560Ti issue. Wish I hadn't been so cheap and just went straight for a GTX 470!! :)

Drat. I just got a great deal on an i3 2125 that I was hoping to use with a new 7-series board that has native power management (and that would make the build easier for a noob like me).

You have to modify the drivers if you intend to use the Intel graphics, as Apple never intended for that combination of hardware. There should be a guide here if you look in the graphics section.

Hey, I was wondering why the CPU selection is so limited. A would consider the Intel Core i5-3450 which is a bit cheaper than the 3570K and I don't need the integrated graphics. Will I encounter any problems with it?

Tony you will make the update for rBoot-LE for ML ? i have problems to boot over there...

The CPU selection is so limited because the Intel HD 2500 graphics doesn't work in OS X. If you're getting a GPU that works during the installation process of ML, then it's not a problem to get a difference CPU.
