And comparing my build with others with similar setup, using GeekBench 3 on 64-bit and 32-bit, I do see that it is lacking from what others have shared so far.
It's possible the score you are comparing to is an overclocked system (GeekBench reports stock speeds on my OC system).

Personally, my scores improved significantly when I switched from the MacPro3,1 to the iMac17,1 SMBIOS. It requires a kext edit, which is unfortunate, but I found it worth the trouble.

I just built a Skylake machine and it seems to be working very well after i changed the SMBIOS to iMac17,1 from MacPro3,1,

I gave it a shot as you suggested, but my machine's display still kept unawakened even though any others seemed getting up correctly.

I hope future system updates will fix it, or some smart guys will find the way to solve it. But I'm skeptical that will happen soon.

Oh man this is great news, not for the wallet though. Now I must resist building a new machine, even though my 2012 'moarfish' build is still blazingly fast (3570k cpu) and upgrading is 100% unnecessary, I'd like to try to make something really quiet and small this time around, while still housing a i7 6700k/6600k. Let's call it a hobby :).

idk Skylake isn't supposed to be that much of a boost. Im waiting for the next tock or tick. ;)

Ah! Okay I didn't do mush research on that because it was never a problems. On another subject, I downloaded the format of posting, I'm trying to read and understand it so I could edit and post properly. Sorry for the delay to edit my build post, I'm having quite a bit of trouble editing and having it stay as the format I want it to. I just spent a good 3-4hrs on it, I'll work more on the editing of my post later. I ended up taking my entire build apart and did quite a bit of modifications to it so that I can fit bigger a mATX MB to run a dual SLi setup instead of what I already. Since I'm this is my first time building a DIY machine, the custom liquid cooling worries me because a thought of it leaking, ruining my entire machine is scary. So I just did some dissecting to rearranged the inside structure of the IN WIN 901 case which is exclusively for mITX MBs. It fits a mATX MB now with some fabrication. I opted to upgrade such hardware as a different motherboard, bigger AIO liquid cooler, EVGA 1200 (haven't decided yet), and two Titan X to run SLi which I got use from eBay used.

Thank you for the information. I will try switching the profiles when I get a bit more comfortable on how to make backups and what not. As of right now I am too new with DIY PC or Hackintosh so I'm a little on the cautious side right now to leave it as is, reinstalling from scratch scares me simply because I don't understand the entire scripts, kext, and editing .plist yet. I will notate this. Thanks again!

Hope it's okay to ask about a point of clarification, so here goes. Regarding the ability to boot without the APIC patch, is that regardless of the BIOS settings? e.g., it'll boot with or without APIC settings disabled in BIOS?

I just built a Skylake machine and it seems to be working very well after i changed the SMBIOS to iMac17,1 from MacPro3,1, I'm guessing, but i suspect the old SMBIOS didn't work too well with the modern hardware?

More importantly > Since 10.11.4 being released i committed to building a Skylake Hackintosh, it has been superb so far, a few minor headaches to begin with that have been resolved with a few bits and bobs (i can't say for sure but SMBIOS may be the key?). Definitely a lot easier than I had expected given the track record pre 10.11.4.

Hi, thanks for the tip. I've been unable to get past a "No Entry" symbol when booting from usb - been trying for weeks.

How do I go about changing the SMBIOS, please? (And I'm a noob, so specific directions would be sincerely appreciated. Thank you!

I changed mine from MultiBeast 8.2.1 after boot had already been successful using MacPro3,1. If you have having trouble before even installing the OS try re-making your boot drive ensuring the right hardware options are chosen.

I presume you are using Clover as your bootloader,

from the Clover menu go to Options > SMBIOS

enter the SMBIOS version you want.

I feel like your issue won't be SMBIOS as that shouldn't have a massive effect on ability to boot, it's more about power management/clock speeds etc.

try this thread, it talks more about AHCI/SATA settings and a few others bits and bobs >
