Hello Newbie here,

Been a long time lurker and finally got around to digging up my old HTPC and I did some research through the forums with mixed results, so I thought I would just simply ask before trying to hack. The current build is:

CPU: Intel Celeron G530 Sandy Bridge Dual-Core 2.4 GHz LGA 1155 65W BX80623G530 Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics

Motherboard: ASUS P8H61-I (REV 3.0) LGA 1155 Intel H61 HDMI USB 3.0 Mini ITX Intel Motherboard

Ram:
Kingston ValueRAM 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Desktop Memory Model KVR1333D3N9K2/4G

HDD:
Western Digital Scorpio Black WD2500BEKT 250GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 2.5" Internal Notebook Hard Drive Bare Drive
The machine is current running Windows 7 Pro.
Can I make this work, or it just easier to build a new machine for my next HTPC?

Thanks for everything.

It'll work. Just get a cheap gfx card.
for the mobo, find a good guide for a p67/h67/h61 etc asus board if you need it, and use that as a reference point (those guides will be many years out of date now though, so dont follow them to the letter). main thing you'll use them for is bios settings and how to get around the power management issue. Clover can fix it on the fly for you, which probably won't be mentioned so keep that in mind.
Audio is Via. So gonna be using voodoohda for that, unless things have changed

But basically, yes, it'll work.
