On Board WIFI + Bluetooth

I have a Gigabyte Z97N + Wifi motherboard. I don't plan on using the wifi - and I know it's not compatible - but will the on board bluetooth work OK?

Yes Bluetooth will work

I swapped out the Gigabyte WiFi/BT card for an iMac WiFi/BT card and adapter card. (See my signature block for a link to my guide.) I was amazed that just the addition of this card not only gave me supported WiFi and BT but better BT operation from booting into the BIOS to sleep/wake-up. I highly recommend this addition.

I am just getting starting on figuring out what parts I should buy and I am trying to figure out the pros and cons of getting a motherboard with wifi and bt included. Can you tell me why the motherboards suggested for the various custoMacs don't have wifi and bt? Is it better to get them separately?

99.9% of the motherboard manufacturers are using the Intel WiFi/BT combo cards which don't work in OS X. Thus, if you get a motherboard with the factory WiFi/BT card, you need to replace it with an OS X compatible one, like I did. Thus, these motherboards are not in the CustoMac builds.
