first hackintosh build

hey guys. Just got myself a new (to me) iMac. It's an early 2006 iMac 2111 with a 2.16 Ghz processor. It looks like the previous owner upgraded it to a 1 TB HDD and 4 GB of RAM ( which i think maxes it out.) i'm trying to figure out whether or not i want to swap out my HDD for a 2 TB SDD and swap out processors or Start from scratch and build myself a hackintosh in the old iMac frame.

Just looking for some general advice, maybe some one who has done the swap before. Also if you have any suggestions for the processor swap any advice is appreciated!

Thanks!

4GB of RAM does max that model out - in fact, it can only use 3GB (officially). The fastest CPU you would be able to put in it is the Core 2 Duo T7800 2.6GHz (not much faster than what you have, which is the Core 2 Duo T7400 2.16GHz). In my opinion not worth it to upgrade the CPU.
