I have a number of IBM eServer xSeries 345 dual Xeon 2.4Ghz with six (6) SAS 320 - 146GB hard drives driven by an Adaptec 2120S Family Controller. Each machine has 16GB of RAM. These machines come standard with the ATI RAGE video adapter and basic Intel MOBO/Proc setup. Standard PCI CD/DVD reader that is being used to boot iBoot/MultiBeast etc.
I would really like to install any version of OS X natively on the machines so that I can use them as part of a render farm for Final Cut Pro.
Is there any project or installation that will allow me to boot from SAS 320 single drive or SAS 320 multi-drive array with the system above?
I have been trying the iBoot and iBoot MultiBeast method and can't get past the iBoot welcome screen. I have tried multiple safe modes etc., and the machine just goes in to deep space.
Any suggestions as this would be an amazingly inexpensive way to increase video rendering productivity.
Thank you,
Duncan
