Hi all,

I am having trouble getting my build to work.

Snow Leopard v 10.6.3

I have the new BIOS (Version U1G) for the motherboard and am not sure if I have set it up right, I have the SATA set to AHCI mode, but was unable to find HPET to set to 64 bit mode.

I am using iBoot Legacy to boot up and had some luck with "GraphicsEnabler=No" getting me to the install screens and where I select which hard drive to install too but there was no hard drive visible! Strange. Now I cant even get back to that and just get stuck on the GREY APPLE logo.
The SSD Drive is visible in the BIOS and is in SATA3-0

I have 4GB of ram in at the moment

Some advise here would be awesome!!

Ok, so I've managed to Install snow leopard. I made a silly error and did not partition the drive first so no wonder it failed. That was retarded.

However... a concern I have now is that my Bios version for the Gigabyte mother board is U1G and the version offered in the DSDT is only up to F6.

If I use F6 will this cause problems? Should I downgrade my BIOS to F6 first?

I'm a fellow noob here but if you downgrade your BIOS then the processor might not be supported. I've just had this very problem with my Gigabyte Z68XP-UD3 board where I got the latest processor but the BIOS revision wasn't high enough to allow the processor to be used. It just went into this strange boot cycle of powering up then trying a couple of times and then powering down.

I'd just try utilising the various kexts and it'll be slowly slowly catchy monkey. Also I was sure I'd read somewhere on here that Ivy Bridge processors weren't supported in Snow Leopard so maybe it's throwing you a load of errors because of that fact. You might need to upgrade to Lion or Mountain Lion to get that working.

Hope that helps...

UEFI is basically an updated DSDT free solution, so you don't really need to install a DSDT with your Gigabyte mobo.
