Hey everyone, I successfully installed 10.6.6 on my EP45-UD3R last week using the non-DSDT/EasyBeast method. I would like to go the DSDT route and have found one for my board, but I'm wondering how exactly to go about this.

Do I just run MultiBeast and select UserDSDT and system utilities? Or, do I need to "undo" anything from running EasyBeast?

Things are running pretty well right now, but it seems that having a DSDT is preferable and easier to make changes/tweaks.

Thanks in advance!

Run Multibeast, tick Easybeast and read the description in the lower pane what easybeast do installing. Search for the kexts which are listed and delete them...easiest way is to delete the whole /Extra folder and to have a look in /S/L/E for some kexts which are listed in the descriptionpane in Multibeast too. After that untick easybeast and tick User DSDT. You have the place the DSDT on your desktop before

Thanks karacho! I have to update my bios before I use the dsdt and hope to do so tonight. Otherwise, sounds pretty straight forward.

I assume that I should delete any other kexts I installed such as NVEnabler, ALC8xxHDA
ALC885/889a, Non-DSDT HDAEnabler for ALC 889?? What about Lnx2Mac's RealTekRTL81xx?

Thanks again for your help!

Done and done! I ended up having to reinstall audio, but everything seems great so far...sleep even seems to be working now!

The only thing that has changed...and it's small thing...is that I can't control volume on my keyboard anymore. Any ideas there?

Otherwise, I couldn't be happier at this point so thank you!

UPDATE: Amazingly, I was able to download drivers for my Microsoft Comfort Curve 2000 and I now have full volume/media control with my keyboard.

That's great man...it's amazing, isn't it?

Oh my gosh this is so much better. this works 99% perfectly. everything works on my GA-X58A-UD3R! USB, Disc Drive, HDD, RAM, EVERYTHING!!!!! The extra 1% is it didn't fix my boot0 error. i had it with easybeast also. sleep worked with easybeast though, not dsdt.... i don;t really care that much
