hi,

GIGABYTE GA-Z97X-UD7-TH

i7 4790k Haswell 4.0Ghz

GT-640-2GD3 GeForce GT-640 2GB 128 bit

Crucial 512gb SSD

Corsair HX650

16GB ram in 4x 4GB sticks (only one installed for now)

DVI-D monitor -

Is there something in that setup that would prevent a successful boot?

I have successfully installed OSX 10.6 w/ iBoot Haswell and a store bought copy of Snow Leopard. Then updated to 10.6.8 and installed MultiBeast. Upon restart, I get the Boot0 error, in which I mount the SSD onto my laptop(running 10.9.4) and re-install MultiBeast successfully. I get the "proper" boot screen, then the grey apple screen and......nothing. I mount the SSD on another computer and look at it; it all seems to be great...everything that should be there is there...but it just doesn't seem to fully go over to booting from the SSD. I have followed all directions to the letter, and I consider myself to be pretty auto-didactic, but I am at a loss here. I feel like I may be missing a small, yet crucial step - but, as I've said, I am out of ideas. Any help out there?

Also, that is the most successful scenario I have managed to achieve. UniBeast Mavericks install on an 8GB flash drive won't even get as far as opening up. It gives all the startup options, but after showing the initial boot up grey screen for about 90 seconds, goes to a white screen with the "rainbow" spinning cursor.

Disable VT-d and Turbo Boost in your BIOS.

Boot with -v -x and post a picture of the screen when it stops.

Good Luck

This is where you made a mistake. Simply update to 10.6.8 and do not run MulitBeast, not necessary. Restart and go the the MAS and download Mavs. Make your Unibeast drive and then follow the installation guide from there. You'll want to use your GT640 for the Mavericks install. Do not use the
integrated gfx to install on a 9 series motherboard. Much easier to do that with an Nvidia gfx card.
