I have seen two or three people claim not to be able to get this processor running which I found a little alarming as in the past they have been shown to work well for basic office type tasks when paired with a suitable motherboard and GPU.
This is the only person that I have seen running one to date:
http://www.tonymacx86.com/general-h...-g3220-8gb-1333mhz-vs-i3-4130-4gb-1333-a.html

I like to see three or so others have something working before I am really happy that something actually works. Perhaps the others were setting this up all wrong?

thanks Adrian B for the response

I see so no one is totally Successful in installing Mavericks/Hackintosh with Pentium G3220 besides her? its not even stated what OSX is she using...

but does the GA-H81M-DS2 board fully works with Mavericks? like its previous GA-H61M-DS2 Rev3.0? or is there something you need to do like patching or DSDT?

if ever I move on to i3, will the i3-4130 work? the i3-4330 is not available locally in my country.

If she has that system running then it will be 10.8.5 or 10.9

It looks like it would work straight out the box. None of the motherboards in the buyers guide need a DSDT. Mavericks isn't perfect but most people running day to day with little problem. Another motherboard that I like the look of for 'PovoMac Haswell' build is the GA-H81M-S2PV. Both of these boards have ALC887 audio and Realtek ethernet.

I cannot guarantee that all this runs properly but the balance of probability on the motherboard is about 90% I would say.

I think as long as OS X does not have a problem with either a G3220 or i3-4130 then they should in theory run fine. Just need a couple more people to say it works before I can go recommending them.

Thanks again Adrian B for the response! :)

I found one selling selling the i3-4330 (on a online site) the unit came from us. I hope I can get this haha.

if ever that I get the i3-4330 on hand, should I upgrade also my Ram? from 4gb 1333mhz to 4gb 1600mhz? will there be a noticeable speed increase in the user experience?

and

is IGPU HD 4600 better than my Gainward GT430 1GB 128bit ddr3? or still gt430 is better?

technically the usage of hackintosh is just for entertainment, chrome with multiple tabs 20 to 40 tabs depends on when doing research, itunes, watching Full HD 1080p movies and sometimes aperture use(my current spec can handle well aperture in my experience)

The speed difference is really very little in the real world considering the necessary outlay. It might be better considering updating to 2 x 4Gb 1600Mhz for a total of 8GB 1600Mhz memory for your use.

I would say that HD4600 should be much better, however with only 4GB of RAM I would use the GT430 for a little longer. Note that the GA-H81M-DS2 does NOT support HDMI/DVI-D that OS X needs, so keep the GT430 unless you need better graphics performance. As I said earlier the GA-H81M-S2PV has DVI-D output:

I use my build in a similar way too ;)

Hi Adrian B!

I am Happy! Finally I was able to get the i3-4330! :D

Im just curious why my "about this mac" shows the correct info? because before it show i7 :p

mac.png

and then my ram show now 4 slot :p
ram.png

and about USB3, does this mean that mavericks natively supported the USB3 of GA-H81M-DS2 or do I have to install the USB3 universal by zenith in Multibeast?
usb.png

here is the write/read test of my LaCie p9220
DiskSpeedTest.jpg

since this is not the mac version, I have already install the USB3 mac support of LaCie but its up to 10.8 only, don't know if its working :p
http://www.lacie.com/sea/support/drivers/driver.htm?id=10239

because when I plug the lacie in USB2, it gives me 5mins in copying a 10GB mkv file then when I plug it in a USB3, still it gives a me 5mins copying time for the same 10GB mkv file.:(

by the way, what I did in the Multibeast was Easybeast then audio, lan and GraphicsEnabler=Yes and everythings works fine like my IvyBridge version. I hope everything is fine! hahaha:lol:

Great to see that your motherboard and CPU work well together. The pentium/celeron processors are not used by Apple and were incorrectly recorded. The i3 information is within OS X and it is recognised correctly.

I have seen in the past that LaCie are slow to update. Your USB 3 is recognised and listed. You do not need to add anything else.
Not sure why it is showing 4 RAM slots
Great to see that you had a nice easy installation, enjoy :headbang:

GA-H81M-DS2 does not support video output through VGA (Apple does not support it). You can use this motherboard with one of the listed i3 processors, but you must also add a GPU.
I would advise if you can see if you can do a build like this :

Good Luck
