I'm looking for a decent hackintosh build for about $600. I am willing to spend a bit more money if it is needed or worth it. The build will mainly be for an everyday machine for stuff like school and such.
I recommend my Hector build (see my signature block). This build was modeled after the CustoMac Mini & Mini Deluxe builds in the the tonymacx86 Buyer's Guide, but I deviated from the CustoMac Mini by adding:
Crucial Ballistx Tactical memory,
Replacing the useless Gigabyte WiFi/BT combo card with an iMac WiFi/BT card and adapter, and
Adding a Gigabyte GTX 750 Ti graphics card.
Works just like a Mac with that iMac WiFi/BT card.
While I used it awhile using just the Intel Integrated Graphics HD4600, I added the $150 USB Gigabyte GTX 750 Ti card for a little "spice" and haven't regretted spending the money on the GTX 750 Ti.
