Hey guys!
Have been having this issue ever since patch 10.9.3 with my friends Hackintosh,
And I've spent hours trying to resolve the issue, and came up empty handed :(

There shows no audio input or output in system setting > sound and on the sound effect tab everything is greyed out.

I tried quite a few settings in MultiBeast latest version and I get these errors

Sound assertion in AppleHDAController at line 1376
Sound assertion in AppleHDAEngine at line 578

Here are the current Specs:
MOBO - Gigabyte GA-Z68A-D3H-B3
CPU - Intel Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge
Graphics - SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 6850
RAM - G-Skill 16GB
OSX 10.9.5 Through Combo Update

Any help would be greatly appreciated !
this Hackintosh was being used to produce music on and would be great to get the audio working again! thank you all !

Edit - Attached my DSDT , Maybe that can help better

I want to pull my hair out!
i had it working by following your pdf guide by editing my dsdt and applying patch audio id 3
restarted, installed realtek 889 again, it finished installing kext and multi beast gives me this error
The system extension /System/Library/Extensions/VoodooHDA.kext was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it, or contact the products vendor for an update.
but the sound was instantly working.

i reboot check my verbose, still getting the sound assertion in applehda error but still booted up , sound still works.
i thought hmm let me try to delete applehda.kext.. biggest mistake ever.
now i been trying another hour and a half and cannot get it to work again!
tried backtracking all my steps and getting so frustrated.
please Toleda ! your Godly help would be appreciated!

Hello vaK, if deleting AppleHDA.kext broke your Audio then you where not actually using the VoodooHDA Driver.
I would say, completely remove VoodooHDA and all of its components and get a AppleHDA.kext!
Either by extracting it from any OS X Mavericks v10.9.X Update (Standalone installer) or by just updating Mavericks to the latest version.

Hey tron80,
Yes i've removed VoodooHDA and all it's components.
the problem is when i install the Realtek 889 codec through MultiBeast
I get these 2 Errors ---

Sound assertion in AppleHDAController at line 1376
Sound assertion in AppleHDAEngine at line 578,
And cannot boot again unless i go to safe mode - remove AppleHDA.kext then reboot but then i have no sound.
I'm currently running the latest OS X 10.9.5.

Pls try an older version of Multibeast like 6.2

Agreed.
As you noted, the messages do not prevent audio from working.
You had working audio.
Suggest a clean install.
