[SOLVED] ALC889 Z68-UD4 no sound

Hello,

After seeing two of my friends use macs for development at uni I decided I'd give Mac OS a whirl. I have been having issues getting the sound to work. The rest of the system (to my knowledge) is fully working.
I followed the approach listed in the installation guide. I tried both installing the Kexts for ALC889 for EFI installed Bootloader support and those without using multibeast. I've messed about a bit with the configuration files in the /Extra/org.chamelion.Boot.plist but to no avail. I feel like I am missing some more elementary problem.

Specs:

CPU - i7 2600k
Mobo - Gigabyte GA-Z68-UD4 (http://www.gigabyte.co.nl/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3910#sp)
BIOS - F6
Audio - ALC889
LAN - RTL8111
Videocard - Nvidia GTX 560TI SLI

What makes troubleshooting hard for me is that the audio device is not recognised in system information, which makes me wonder where the problem is.

Where do I go from here?

Regards

P.S. If I forgot to post more relevant information please do say so. The Mac environment is totally new to me and a lot more different than I'm used from either windows or linux.

Can you post the output from dpcimanager and ioregexplorer as per the guides?

Hello,

Thanks for your response, my bad for not following the guidelines, frustration got the best of my patience. Anyway here's the info you requested (and some more).

Hello,

I tried the first fix you suggested (second gave me all kinds of nasty compile errors in MacIASL). Here's the updated DSDT and IOreg dump.

Tried shutdown, safe mode, audio in windows (works) and BIOS. The only Audio related thing I could find in the BIOS is azalia codec Disable/auto. Tried both to no avail. Should I start trying VoodooHDA versions to see if one picks up my audio card? Or are there more options remaining.

Thanks for your time regardless

Hello, I finally got it working. I messed up my previous step (think I missed or chose wrong driver anyway) it's working now. Thanks a lot!
