Hi all!

First of all, I hope this is the correct location in the forum to ask something like this, but anyway, here we go:

First of all, my hardware:
- Intel 4690K with HD4600
- Gigabyte Z97X-UD5H-BK, updated to BIOS F5
- Crucial Ballistix Tactical 2x8GB
- Samsung 840 EVO 250GB

On to my problem: I have finally gotten all my parts for my Hackintosh, except a dedicated GPU, and started a UEFI based Clover install using the guide by tony. I was able to boot onto the desktop without any trouble. However, I don't know if there are any errors during start up, because those loading operations are not visible for a long time. Can I extract a log or something somewhere?
However, my actual question is something different. I am wondering what I should do next. I probably have to install some more kexts and what not. I can't find any documentation on what to do next though. For example, which kext should I install and more importantly, how? I used MultiBeast to add the trim patch and add the Atheros Killer kext to have internet, but is MultiBeast the correct way to go? Also, how can I check if my system is stable?
I hope someone could point me in the right direction on what to do next. I still have to patch my audio for example, but I don't know if MultiBeast is the correct way of doing it.
Help would be much appreciated!

By the way, I have kept a short log of what I installed and such, so expect a build log when my system is up and running like it should :)

EDIT: Weird things I encountered:
- Just updated Safari to version 7.0.4 and I still have some kind of flickering in the website bar. This flickering also happens sometimes within an application for some reason. I did use the supplied HD4600 config.plist by tony for my install.
- Youtube can't play videos within Safari and the flickering becomes worse. I have installed Adobe Flash Player. In System Information, my Intel HD 4600 only has 6MB of VRAM.

well the easy answer is to use MultiBeast for hardware kexts (don't install the boot loader from MultiBeast).
now if your feeling like playing go to the Clover wiki and learn how the nuts and bolts of the Clover booting system. Its a bit different then the MultiBeast procedure, but most say its more flexible.

Thank you for your reply. I will try to add more kexts using MultiBeast then and read into the Clover wiki more. The flickering in Safari is much worse when on Youtube, see my first post. Any idea what this can be?

Did you install using this guide? http://www.tonymacx86.com/mavericks...-how-install-os-x-mavericks-using-clover.html

If yes, then all you need to do is install audio and networking kexts, repair permissions and rebuild caches.
You can use Clover Configurator to create your config.plist and use Chameleon Wizard to make a SMBIOS.plist to go in your EFI Clover.

Hi Going Bald. Thank you for your reply. This is what I have done so far:
- Installed Clover v2k r2721 in UEFI mode using the guide by tony you mentioned. The only differences are that I used DiskMaker X for my Mavericks install USB and I did not add an ethernet kext, DSDT or SSDT during the initial install.
- In post-install, I installed the same kexts on the EFI partition (which I installed on my SSD) as the ones I placed onto my USB installer. After that, I used MultiBeast for the trim patch, atheros killer kext, FakeSMC v6.8.1307, FakeSMC plugins, FakeSMC HWMonitor app, Realtek ALC1150 driver and the Intel 9 series motherboard support driver.

However, right now I am trying to fix the flickering I get from my HD4600. In System Information I saw that no kext is loaded and I found a guide by toledo to fix the framebuffer:
https://github.com/toleda/graphics_Intel_framebuffers
and here:
http://www.tonymacx86.com/graphics/125239-hd4600-hd4000-hd3000-framebuffer-edits.html
But, when I got to point 4 in his pdf, which is 'Note Framebuffer', I noticed that my ig-platform-id is different from the ones he noted and the Azul framebuffer is not even present in IOJones (see attached screen shot). As I mentioned before, I have the new Intel 4690k, so maybe this id has changed?
Any help would be appreciated on how to continue.

 Looks to me you got everything covered.

Graphics and framebuffers problems are way over my head - toleda is your man there.
Did you post your problem in the framebuffer edits post you linked with the different id mentioned?

Great to hear I am doing ok :) Do I need a DSDT or SSDT?
By the way, when I shutdown my Mac, the screen is filled with the following:
Code:
Fixing incorrect zfree from zone kalloc.16 to zone kalloc.32
What is this and should I be worried? Can I see my startup and shutdown logs somewhere and check if any errors occur?

I still have no working audio though. I just renamed the AppleHDA kext in S/L/E to AppleHDA_backup to render it useless and installed VoodooHDA v2.8.4 using MultiBeast. If I play a song in iTunes, it does 'progress in time', but there is no sound coming from my speakers and I tried front and back IO. Even non-speaker in- and outputs, but nothing.

I did post in toleda's thread. I hope he can help me. I think that the HD4600 in the 4690k has a new id, which is unknown to Mavericks. I will keep you all up to date.

EDIT 1: If I connect with HDMI to my tv, which has built-in speakers unlike my monitor, I can set different settings in the VoodooHDA preference panel and audio through my front IO works. However, when I connect to my monitor, the settings don't come up in the preference panel and audio doesn't work.
Very strange, but I think this has also something to do with the CPU since it is connected with HDMI to my monitor. I will wait and see what toleda has to say about this.

EDIT 2: I went grocery shopping and shut down my computer. When I got back, I started it with my speakers already plugged in into the front IO and for some reason, I got sound in iTunes. The VoodoHDA preference panel also has settings available for front and back IO now and recognises all in- and outputs. I was only able to test the speaker outputs and both (front and back) work. The sound however is sometimes a little bit distorted, but that could just be me. Maybe I should play with the settings within the preference panel. So far, so good!

EDIT 3: Well, audio is not yet working correctly. Sometimes it does work and sometimes it does not. If the volume button in the menu bar is grayed out, it doesn't recognise any audio port at all.
It looks like that when I repair permissions and rebuild cache and reboot, audio is fine, but if you reboot after that, no audio

Not sure about the killoc errors you are getting, but I suspect it is all same boat as the gfx and audio - no support fot the 97 chip by Apple yet = problems.

Well, I have gotten audio working on both the front and back panel. Or at least, I have speaker out working. I don't know about the rest but it is being recognised in the VoodooHDA preference panel.

I am still struggling with the integrated graphics though. I was able to patch my ig-platform-id to 300220D. But I can't for the life of me get a frame buffer assigned to it. Any help regarding the integrated graphics would be great!

300220D is the correct Azul framebuffer. What problem are you trying to solve?
