Nvidia has updated its standalone graphics drivers for GeForce and Quadro cards to 10.8.3. Please note that these drivers should be considered experimental. If you aren't having any issues, do not install- the native OS X drivers work great for most people.

    Version: 313.01.01f03
    Release Date: 2013.05.15
Operating System: Mac OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.3
    File Size: 21.6 MB
    Download: http://www.nvidia.com/object/macosx-...03-driver.html

Installation and removal instructions for the drivers are provided in the Additional Information section at the link above. If you do end up testing, report your findings in the comments!

      Download: http://us.download.nvidia.com/Mac/Qu...3.01.01f03.pkg
(With .pkg instead of .dmg- I sure hope they fix that little bug.)

Installer only works with MacPro3,1 MacPro4,1 and MacPro5,1.

      Troubleshooting Update:
In order to flag the alternate drivers on a CustoMac, you must add the flag manually to the chameleon.org.Boot.plist. For Chimera bootloader:

      1. Open Finder
      2. Navigate to /Extra/org.chameleon.Boot.plist
      3. Open in TextEdit
      4. Add nvda_drv=1 to Kernel Flags as shown:

      Example Usage:

      Code:
      <key>Kernel Flags</key>
      <string>darkwake=0 nvda_drv=1</string>
      5. Save and reboot

You should be on the new NVIDIA drivers.

      Thanks kawayuppie

No this is for 10.8.3 only, as an alternative to the standard 10.8.3 drivers provided by Apple.

Interestingly, they not only install separately, they even give you a menubar and system preferences pane now to switch between drivers.

Yeah Iím wondering about this too. 10.8.2 runs incredibly stable on my system except for some rare graphic hickups - maybe this driver will fix it but I donít wanna risk my systemís stability by upgrading to a new OS release.

Edit: Wow, the seperated pane looks really nice, so I might consider the update if people report the driver runs absolutely stable.

After loading the driver .dmg, it cannot be mounted, seems broken. Tried several times... anyone else?

This is great. Hopefully it will fix the Fermi freeze of the 500 series cards. I'm home all tomorrow so I will update and check it out and report back

Thanks for posting this info about new drivers, I will test it later... But much more important is a release of updated CUDA Drivers. You can find updated CUDA drivers here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/macosx-...59-driver.html

      Enjoy!

Will this help with my freezing issues with my EVGA GeForce GTX 550 Ti? Everything else is running tip-top in 10.8.3, except for the graphics.
