Airflow Design
  • More fan´s go in the case than out produced an over pressure in the case to prevent dust.
  • Using Push->Pull with 2 fan´s for the radiator to maximize the cooling.

Comments

  • I updated from an E8400 an the i7 is really really awesome :D
  • I am searching for an very silent new Gaming Machine so i choice a Mini-Watercooler(i can´t find the Alpeföhn Wasser CPU-Cooler outside from Germany but it´s similar to the Corsair H60) and it´s really nice for overclocking.
  • I think 8GB of RAM is enough for gaming and encoding videos.
  • At the moment i use my old GTX470 but this video card is really loud i change it next month to an MSI Geforce GTX 660 Twin Frozr III(should be very quiet)
  • I also used an blanket insulator Kit for the Shinobi.
  • The System makes the noise from an Fan in an TV nearly imperceptible.

Installation Notes

  1. Ejected the GTX470 for install can´t get to the installer with the card added
  2. I update to the latest Gigabyte BIOS version from the Gigabyte Website
  3. Go to the Bios and load optimized settings
  4. Change your hard drive mode to AHCI
  5. Save and exit
  6. Install your system with the Unibeast USB driveInstall Mountain Lion with Unibeast

MultiBeast Configuration for Mountain Lion
Multibeast config.jpg

Post Installation Notes
  1. Update the complete system an reinstall the Audio and etc.
  2. Check everything is working.
  3. When all is running i started creating the Fusion Drive between the 64GB Vertex 3 and the Samsung Spinpoint F3 1,5TB
with this Guide Creating a Fusion Drive.
  4. Then cloned the system to the Fusion Drive.
  5. Ejected the temporary added HDD.
  6. Installed Windows 8 to the Samsung SSD (a Horrible System but faster than Windows 7 and only for gaming).
  7. The 1TB Samsung HDD is Data Storage for Windows.

First Look an Feel
  • I tested the Airplay Mirroring an it works nice (cant´t get it to work with the GTX470 added)
  • Tested some Games with the HD4000 (for Diablo3, Starcraft2 HOTS, and World of Warcraft enough power at middle setting avarage 40-50FPS :headbang:)
  • Started to OC at the end the standard clock is 4GHZ and the Turbo Clock ends at 4,3GHZ and 4,4GHZ for 2 cores. Simply change the multiplier in the BIOS (advanced overlocking guides please search at google )
  • Added the GTX470 and run some Benchmarks

Outstanding
  • Can´t get Sleep to work correctly i think it work but the system immediately wakes 3-5sec after it goes to sleep.
(if anyone have tips let me know please :-D)
  • Upgrading the Videocard

The sleep not working scares me, because I have my eyes on the same case! My setup is going to be simpler though -- no Fusion drive -- and a Seasonic power supply. Did you see the reviews of the Gigabyte motherboard over at Newegg? I hope your PS is not the thing that's killing sleep (check the Reviews tab and scroll down some):

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128559

The Seasonic I'm looking at has a single rail 12v line, so I should be ok.

Anyhow, your setup looks great! What kind of speakers are those? I know I'll be needing some speakers too.

Sleep in Windows Works so i think it is an Software Problem o_O
Maybe it is the DVD drive i test it when the New Video cards arrives.

The speakers are Logitech z523 :D

Thanks for this tip is will test it on the Weekend.

This is also the answer for this.

Congratulations!

Glückwunsch zu dem super Aufbau!

I've two questions and two notes.

- Are the Casefans constantly working @ 800rpm? Even @ idle? How are they connected? Directly on the PSU?
- How noisy is the pump? Did you reduce the voltage of the pump or sth similar?

- Are considering a better PSU in the future? Because the one you own could be noisy under load (I guess).
- Get rid of the 1,5TB Samsung ;) The loudest part in my Hack have been my two 1TB Samsung F1. I switched to a WD red and am running a dead silent system now.

Thanks :D

Dankeschön :D

-The Fans are controlled by the Bitfenix Recon running in the middel by 400-500 rpm.
-I can´t hear anything from the pump but there is a very little ball bearing rattle but only hearable in 5-10cm from the pump and if the case is closed i can´t hear nothing about that.
- The pump and the 2 Fans are controled by the Mainboard onboard fan connectors but it´s running on a fixed speed i think it is the minimum because the heatspread from the cpu is always 25 degrees also under max load.

- The PSU is absolutely silent also under load..
- The Samsung F1 is hearable (the rattle) is a little annoying but the WD Red is a good tip for the future
