Comments

This is 3rd hackintosh that I built. After using my hackintosh for a week my brother was impressed with it. He asked me if I can build a cheap one for him for his daily use. He wanted to use his 19’ Dell TFT monitor which had only VGA port. To make the build cheap I decided to buy low end processor and a decent graphics card which would support VGA output.

The Build

To get the hackintosh parts we went to this local place in our town (Bangalore) where PC parts are sold very cheap.
Motherboard > I asked the shop keeper to show me the cheapest Gigabyte motherboard with socket LGA1155, The shopkeeper showed me Gigabyte GA-H61M-S1, LGA 1155.
This motherboard had Realtek RTL8111F LAN port and Realtek ALC887 so this was shortlisted.

Processer > Cheapest available CPU was Celeron but I went with Pentium G2020 2.9GHz 3MB LGA 1155.
Graphics Card > I wanted a graphics card which would work OOB in OSX and has a VGA output so I went with ZOTAC NVIDIA GeForce 210 Synergy Edition 1GB DDR3.

Rest of the stuff > 500GB desktop internal HD, mATX cabinet with 400W PSU and 4GB RAM.

BIOS settings > Set it to the factory settings, disabled the internal graphics and changed the SATA settings from IDE to ACHI.

Installation

OSX Installation > Installation was quite easy, prepared 10.9.3 Unibeat drive.
I was able to bootin using flags "GraphicsEnabler=Yes PCIRootUID=0”, Installation completed in 20min.

Post Installation

First boot with UniBeast using the same flags and I was on the OSX welcome screen.
These were the option i selected in MultiBeast.

That is all the hackintosh was ready.

Everything was working including sleep but the machine was taking long time to boot.

Fixed the long booting issue with the help of this thread > http://www.tonymacx86.com/audio/109902-usb-start-up-problem-aka-audio-problem.html

Wifi > Atheros AR9285 Half mini wifi card will not work OOB, refer to this thread to get it working > http://www.tonymacx86.com/network/104850-guide-airport-pcie-half-mini-v2.html

wow, it is amazing with the build, low cost hardware and give good perform with the osx. I like the built, with this it has basic functioning.

I have able to create a hakintosh with GA-H61M-S1 GIGABYTE, I have followed all the process you have explained here, not facing any slow booking issue so far. But I am facing 2 issues...

1) Audio is not working, its Saying no audio device is found.

2) I have not used any Graphics card, so my VGA output monitor is not able to show correct resolution of 1366x768 pixcels, instead its showing 1280pixcels wide, stretching the screen.

I can get the screen fixed by adding a GForce 210 card, but help me with the audio.

Hello,
I did almost the same build like you: GA-H61M-S1, Intel G2030 processor, Zotac Geforce 210.
I followed your example, and everything is ok excepting the long boot problem.
Can you please help me and tell me step by step what i have to do to solve the problem.
I'm new to all this and i read that thred with USB START UP Problems 10 times but i don't know what to open, what to press, etc...:banghead:

Thank you!

Hey, could you please repost your Post-instalation config.? Can't open it here
Thx in advance

@MiniITX,
Are you still on Mavericks or have you upgraded to a newer version?
I have exactly the same GPU and Motherboard, and I am planning to install High Sierra.

@manav i have upgraded to High Sierra and everything just works. Sleep wake, HDMI Audio, onboard audio, power management everything just works so perfectly. Let me know if you need help.
I have also tried vanilla method and it works good as well.

Mojave does not support either Intel HD3000 graphics or the older Nvidia GT210 GPU. The hardware should work with a GT710 (GDDR3) card. A GT630 card may work depending on the technology that your individual card has. You can use CPU-Z in Windows to determine the Nvidia code name and memory type.
