Zotac MAGNUS EN1080

i just installed high sierra on my zotac en1080k. however, i'm having a hard time getting the nvidia web driver to work. it installs fine, but i do not appear able to 'activate' it. in the system preference's Nvidia Driver Manager, clicking on the "NVIDIA Web Driver" instead of the "Default macOS Graphics Driver" (and then rebooting) doesn't appear to 'stick'. also, i'm not sure how the ECC tab is supposed to work (as the 1080 doesn't have ECC) but all of the slots show up as 'No Device Found'.

Really interested if anyone's managed to do a successful installation on the EN1080. Anyone had any luck?
