(solved) Z77X-UD5H - USB Problems - Reboot (Yosemite)

Hi,

my Yosemite installation runs quite stable. But I have a strange problem, as soon as I hock up my iPhone in the front USB ports, Yosemite instantly reboots.

During the reboot I leave the cable plugged-in and then iTunes can access my iPhone, no problem.

I have this issue with two different iPhones.

I did not install any USB driver through Multibeast.

Does anyone know, how to fix this reboot issue?

Thanks

Solution:

1.
Flash F14 BIOS and disable CSM Support. No luck with F15q etc

2.
Flash F16 mod 11 and disable CSM Support

Try this :

Remove GenericUSBXHCI.kext if you have one in /System/Library/Extensions

Copy Rehabman's GenericUSBXHCI.kext to your desktop. Download

If you don't have it already, download KextBeast from Here.
Run KextBeast.

Restart

Good Luck

I don't have GenericUSBXHCI.kext installed.

But I tried the attached one from above. This messed up my system completely. I had a green screen and I had to access my hack via ssh to remove the kext file.

The instant reboot happens only after "sleep / wake". After a fresh reboot, I can plugin the iPhone and it it works without a crash of the whole system.

But if I wake up my hack, plugin USB and bam....

Any idea?

thx

If I plugin my external hdd, there is no crash.

But even if the iPhone cable is plugin, the hack won't wake up from sleep. Seems to have something to do with these USB iPhone 5 cables...

I having the same problem.
After waking the system up after sleep all is fine until i plug in any USB device.
Instantly the system freezes.

Do you have a DSDT set up or without a DSDT ?

Do you have a freeze or a crash followed by a reboot?

I have a dsdt and a ssdt setup, but even if I remove these files, the crash happens too.

I do have a freeze not a chrash. Only after wake up and after i plug in anything to any USB port.
I will try a dsdt free installation.

I was able to install these drivers, but this could not solve the problem.

After sleep / wake the hack reboots if I connect my iPhone via USB...

Same issues...on wake from sleep my Logitech C615 webcam stops working, if I try unplugging replugging instant reboot, same goes for my Bluetooth dongle.
