Z690 Chipset and Alder Lake CPUs

Hi there,
I have a 13900KF but I was not able to have my Alpine Ridge (custom firmware) working on a Prime B660M (black void, no POST when a device is connected to the Alpine Ridge.) I want to try a new build with a proper Z690 instead but I must be sure the thunderbolt card works fine with it. Is there anyone running that card on Z690 without issues?

Might be redundant, but did you try the upper PCIE 4x slot on that board? TB3/4 cards are all 4x and wouldn't work on the lower 1x slot. Otherwise it's likely a power delivery issue, I would guess most Z690/Z790 with the additional power connector would work.

It was on the correct slot, and the card was recognized correctly in macOS. It was just not POST at all with a device connected to it. I guess a new motherboard will do the trick.

Ventura 13.0
OC 0.85
MacPro 7.1

Follow ur z690 aero G ssdt , mix & match with Pro Art some kext
All working fine, 10gb lan, 2.5gb lan, Thunderbolt, Wifi, BT....etc
Only sleep/wake got issue, cant wake up and even totally shut down
Any idea to fix that? Appreciated to take a look

Hey guys,
The new motherboard work like a charm. I managed to undervolt my 13900KF (5.2/4.2) and got it under 200W, scoring up to 37K in CB23. Love that chip.

Are you doing 5.2/4.2 all core? And how much were you able to undervolt?

Would be interested to see the single core score at 200W as well.

It's 5.2/4.2 yes, I assume it's all core. Single-core is quite bad actually. I don't know why or how.

How bad is bad for the single core?

For the single core, do you have CPUFriend + DataProvider kexts? Without that single core will be really bad (like half of normal, normal for a 13900K on MacOS should be around 1900 at ~300W).
