Hello all!

A couple of months ago I built a z68 desktop to run windows 8 (don't judge me for using z68, it was budget okay?!) and I became very disapointed with Microsoft's new OS. I've had a macbook air since 2011 and I thought OSX Mavericks seemed much better than Windows 8. So my question is, is my desktop compatible?

Specs:
i7 2600 (non k model) @3.4 Ghz
Asrock z68 Extreme 3 Gen 3
8GB Corsair XMS 3 1333mhz ram
XFX AMD HD 7870 Ghz edition
2tb Internal Hard Drive
1tb External Hard Drive

If any more specs are required please ask

Theres nothing wrong with Z68, it may be a little dated but is still a very capable platform.

Your mobo does support much faster memory though, you might like to consider that if you can get some faster ram at a decent price :)

You will probably need a DSDT for that board, have a search in the forums, there is a lot of information about it as well as guides on how to create your own.

Thanks for the quick reply :)

I'll have a look at a DSDT. Not sure about making my own but I'm not against trying new things.

And yeah I know about the memory, it was a budget buy really. I'm looking for a 16gb kit at the moment :)
