Z170 TB3 Presonus Quantum = No Go?

So I am trying to get my Presonus Quantum to work in HS or Sierra

Currently testing on my z97 setup TB2. Looking at the images, it sees the cable , theres firmware and each tb cable is actually serialized.

We also see that the Quantum is almost connected, but not fully.

Is this a case of needing a real mac for the presonus to work?

I will check on my Z170 setup friday. Ill install windows and see of theres any tb firmware dor that mobo.

But I have a feeling I have to get a real mac or a different interface.

looks like I have the same setup as mike except video card. I got the quantum to work with a macbook pro, but neither windows boot drive nor sierra will recognize it with the apple tb2 cable going to apple tb3 adapter to card. I've heard that the startech adapter is required to get windows to recognize but I don't want to drop the extra money if it won't help the sierra side. would love a free solution with the system I have.

I'm getting the startech adapter tomorrow so hopefully that will work. will report back
