Using the system listed, I have managed to put Yosemite on a USB with UniBeast using the method listed on this site:

http://www.tonymacx86.com/445-unibeast-install-os-x-yosemite-any-supported-intel-based-pc.html

When I try to boot into the installation, I am left with the Apple grey screen, but no spinning symbol, it just gets stuck, after hunting around I discovered some boot flags.

These are the combinations I have used and their effects.

Boot Flag Effect
-x -v PCIRootUID=0 graphicsenabler=no black screen after code
-x graphicsenabler=no grey apple screen without spinner
graphicsenabler=no grey apple screen without spinner
-x -v black screen after code
PCIRootUID=0 graphicsenabler=no grey apple screen without spinner

If anyone has any clue what is wrong or how to fix, please don't hesitate to speak out.

Boot flags are case sensitive - If you get them wrong they have no effect.

graphicsenabler=no is wrong

It should be GraphicsEnabler=No (or GraphicsEnabler=Yes)

Good Luck

any other suggestions?

Yes - Please add your system specs to your profile - It will help others to help you and is a requirement of the Rules.
'CUSTOM' means nothing - Please put your motherboard there.

Also, PCIRootUID=0 and GraphicsEnabler=No are default flags so no need to enter them.

How are you connected to your monitor ?

Have you disabled VT-d and TurboBoost in your BIOS ?

Boot with -v and post a picture of the screen when it stops

Good Luck

I used the UseKernelCache=no when it happened to me .

Try this GraphicsEnabler=Yes PCIRootUID=1. It worked for me.
