This is a guide to upgrade Yosemite from Mavericks with the following build:

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-X79-UP4
Processor: i7 4820k Quad-Core Extreme
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 2GB
RAM: 32GB
Booted from and installed on: Samsung 120GB SSD

Additional miscellaneous parts:
Wi-fi card: TP-Link TL-WDN4800 450Mbps Wireless N Dual Band PCI Express Adapter

Bluetooth: Belkin USB Bluetooth

What you'll need (very important):
8GB or more USB stick
Wired keyboard
Wired mouse/wireless mouse that does not use bluetooth

Note: This was all done on the same Hackintosh with the same SSD, so you can do the same. This is a guide for those who wish to upgrade Yosemite with these same conditions; although, the difference between clean install will not be too dissimilar.

Please prepare for up to 3 hours for the process to be finished.

Looking to solve audio problems with ALC892? See Step 5

Step 1:

Download the newest versions of Multibeast, Unibeast, and Chimera from the 'Downloads' tab on tonymacx86.com. Also download from the 'Archive' section, Multibeast for Mavericks 6.1.0. Once you have downloaded these, plug in your USB stick.

Once you've download Unibeast, unzip the file and run the application. Keep clicking continue, selecting Yosemite where necessary, and then select to install Unibeast onto your USB stick. This process will take a while (almost 30 mins for me!), so be patient.

Once Unibeast has finished installing onto your USB, move over the newest Multibeast for Yosemite and Chimera 4.0 and the Multibeast for Mavericks 6.1.0 onto the same USB. Then, once you're ready, restart the computer.

Step 2:
Once you've restarted your computer, press F12 to choose the boot drive (or whatever button allows you to choose what drive to boot) and select and press enter on the USB drive.

At Chimera, before you hit enter for Yosemite, type in the following kernel flags exactly with spaces: npci=0x3000 cpus=1

Then hit enter.

Step 3:
Note: if you're doing a clean install on an unformatted hard drive, before you continue the installation you must format the drive you'll choose to boot the OS using Disk Utility. Refer to tonymac's guide to Mavericks if you're unsure about this.

Once you're at the installation process, keep hitting enter and choose the hard drive you want to install on; for me, it was the same SSD I installed Mavericks on. Install Yosemite (25-30 minutes), then either manually or automatically restart your computer and be prepared to hit F12 again.

Step 4:
Hit F12 again and select the USB drive. This time, select the hard drive that you installed Yosemite on. Before you hit enter on this selection, type in the same kernal flags as you did before (see above if you've forgotten). Once you've gone through the banal process of setting up iCloud etc., load up Multibeast for Yosemite.

Here are the drives and things you need to click/check (ones that are optional will say so):

Select 'Free DSDT' from 'Quick Start'
Drivers > Misc > ElliottForceLegacyRTC
EvOreboot
Both of the FakeSMCs
NullCPUPowerManagement
USB 3.0 Universal
VoodooTSCSync > 4 Core (or however many cores depending on what processor you have)

Customize > 1080p Display Mode (optional)
SSDT Options > Sandy Bridge Core i7 (again, depends on your processor)

Then build! This can take up to 5-10 minutes.

Step 5:
After you've installed your drivers and kext files, open up Multibeast for Mavericks 6.1.0

Skip all the drivers except for:
Drivers > Audio > Without DSDT > ALC892

Then build! For some reason, the most recent Yosemite and Mavericks Multibeast ALC892 doesn't work, but this one does!

Step 6:

Restart your computer. You may find you cannot boot. Type in these kernel flags for safe boot -x npci=0x3000 cpus=1

Once you're in, follow this direction:

Finder > Go > Computer > Hard Drive name with Yosemite OS on > Extra > org.chameleon.Boot.plist

Click and hold this file org.chameleon.Boot.plist and drag it onto your Desktop. Double click this duplicate file on your desktop. Look down the list for where it says "Kernel Flags". Below this, type in <string>npci=0x2000</string> and yes that's 2000 not 3000.

Once you've done that, drag the duplicate file into the Extra folder and replace the original file.

Restart your computer and you should be good to go!

David I owe you a beer, although my system is not the same as yours, I've been struggling to install Yosemite, your instructions 'kernel flags for safe boot -x npci=0x3000 cpus=1' and the modification to 'org.chameleon.Boot.plist' meant I managed to finally get it up and running.

Many, many thanks

Yosemite ALC892 works. The x79 fix is easy. Advise if you are interested in Yosemite ALC892 on your system.

I have. Download Multibeast for Mavericks 6.1.0 and choose Drivers > Audio > Without DSDT > ALC892 and install. Do this after you've installed the drivers for Yosemite using the newest Multibeast.

And Multibeast for Yosemite ALC892 driver doesn't work for my build and for many others, so don't say that it does work for everyone because it doesn't.
