Yosemite - Dell Optiplex 7010 - GT 610

Hi All,

System Configuration:
Dell OptiPlex 7010 (Bios Rev A01)

Corei3 2100 Processor - HT enabled
Intel VT Enabled
Legacy Boot Option (UEFI is available - but am not sure whether i should use it or not)
8GB RAM
GT 610 Gfx Card
1 x 250GB SATA 6GBPS HDD (Yosemite) (connected on SATA-0)
1 x 750GB HDD SATA 3GBPS HDD (NTFS Formatted - NO Operating System). (SATA-1)
1 x DVD ROM / Writer on SATA – 2
OnBoard Intel Nic
Realtek ALC269 Sound

Yosemite Installed via TonyMac UNIBEAST installer (App Store Yosemite)

Install started fine without any flags. Formatted the 250GB HDD as GPT and installed Yosemite.

Restart after install without any flags at all:
a) Graphics - GT610 detected with proper resolution and QE/CI enabled / verified
b) Intel NIC (onBoard) was automatically detected and working
c) NO - SOUND

I then used Multibeast “EayBeast”

I have tried using "Mac Pro 3,1" system definition as well but it's the same behaviour.

The Problem:
a) System Boots only via UniBeast Installer USB – if I take the usb out, I get boot0 error.
I read the boot0 error guide on tonymac, and then did the diskutil info / | grep “Block”
macpro:~ user1$ diskutil info / | grep "Block"
Device Block Size : 512 Bytes
Allocation Block Size : 4096 Bytes

After MultiBeast my network card wasn’t working, I re-ran multibeast and selected Intel E1000 driver – so it’s working now.

I can still boot cleanly into the system via the usb installer and everything is working – i just need the boot loader to be installed properly.

Also, as this systems (dell) mobo has UEFI, would that give me any benefit or I can use legacy boot ?

How can I check whether my system is shutting down cleanly?

If your board has UEFI then it's almost a no-brainer to go with Clover UEFI, as it's "light-years" ahead of legacy boot loaders like Chimera and Chameleon. See here: clover-wiki.zetam.org.

Switching to Clover will get rid of your boot0 error, but you may need to take other steps to get your Hack booting from the HDD. You probably didn't install the boot loader onto the hard drive, which you need to do to be able to boot from the hard drive.

I have troubles with Yosemite installing on my Dell Optiplex 7020,will please show the BIOS setting.
