Hey everyone! This is my first hack build and man, these forums have been a handy tool for getting all setup. It took quite a bit of trial and error, especially with the GPU and Nvidia drivers on 10.10.3. I was able to find everything I needed to succeed on these forums with all of these talented and smart individuals. Any who, here is my build!
Gigabyte Z97mx-Gaming-5
Intel Core i7 4790k
2x8GB G.Skill Trident 2400 RAM
Samsung EVO 840 250GB
WD 1TB HDD
Swiftech H220x
Asus ROG Swift 27"
M.2 - Samsung SSD 128GB
I use the EVO and 1TB for Windows. I actually already had used these in my pre-existing setup until I decided to go Hack build and replace my Mobo. So I just boot into the EVO drive when I want to use Windows from BIOS.
Everything is working phenomenally. I had to do some work with the GPU to get the 970 to work. This was probably due to my lack of experience, but I got my way through it after figuring out Multibeast. Everything else was working right out the box. Whenever audio kicks out I just use Toleda tool for getting audio devices to pop back in.
Thank you everyone for being such awesome help and a great community!
