PS: HEVC issues with RX580 have finally been resolved in the last BS update .

They are definitely changing how to handle video codec on newer os/metal drivers.

Starting from iOS14 (and still in 14.2 DB3) CIContext().heifRepresentation: is broken on all iPhones.


Anyways I found that while I open an email with Mail app on iPhone, appear a new icon inside the dock with Mail’s app icon with a little iPhone on the top left badge that lets me to display the current email from the mac. Never worked on other betas, nor on Catalina in my macbook
Is called Sidecar or is just Continuity?

Nice to see this, just checked it and HEVC is back I think it was just a problem with HEVC on a hack because my Vega dropped HEVC also.

Rest assured , smooth updates for Big Sur works perfectly fine without downloading the full 11/12GB.
You need to make sure you have the following in your config.plist
- SecureBootModel = Disabled
- SIP: 67000000

Clean your NVRAM ( just in case ).

Well, disabling SIP and Secureboot is needed for betas? or we have to do this even on public releases? it's a new config required for Big Sur?

Big Sur seems to boot from the sealed snapshot at the present time.
SIP and Secureboot are obviously locking the system this way.
Disabling them allows you to skip the full installation on new releases.
This might change upon the GM release ( Hopefully ).

Just FYI, I disabled only the secure boot and it updated flawlessly even with SIP enabled, thanks for the info!

After I switched to newer usb kext approach I got usb charging (of my iPhone) while sleep!

After Beta 10 update Facetime calls (via my iPhone) are now working!
I’m still unable to set my watch to unlock this mac but I’m very happy

My Watch unlocks my mac just fine. A few seconds slower than Catalina, but i guess that will be better a few versions ahead =)
