I think I'm one of the "non mentioned" in your post and I want to be clear: I appreciate your work here and I respect your (or every one else obviously) opinion. I just think it's worth supporting whoever built an X299 platform in the past but spending money on it now is... how to say... subjective!? I jumped on hackintosh just a couple of years ago, I think it's sad too, but hey... let's hope Apple keeps up the good work on its silicon since it will be the only option in a few years. It's interesting to have different views and be able to share them in peace, one of the reasons this X299 group has been and will be so interesting to read even if our systems are 100% working
Ok, but do you have any constructive advice beyond get yourself a 9900k or an M1 (incidentally I own both)? If I have computing needs that surpass what my current machines can offer, what exactly are my options here?

I don't know why there's always fighting/disagreements in these threads haha

Anyway, I think I am leaving too, I am not much help nowadays anyway, but I do try to chime in here and there.

Enjoy guys and hope for the best for all of you

In my humble opinion, I'll let my money stay in my pockets at the moment, but if u really need all that computing power and you need it now and money is no object, then build an X299 18 core + dual GPU (5700XT or VII) system, i think it's also possible to hack a Xeon W system (can't remember chipset name, maybe C340 but I'm not sure) which is the same platform than real mac pro. But all of it depends on your kind of workloads, CPU and/or GPU intensive?! More than 128 GB of RAM (ECC?).

You can also buy a real Mac Pro, but you're writing on an hackintosh forum, so that's not an option maybe

Yeah, I'm not that wealthy. Plus I have this strange feeling that Apple is about to let a lot of Mac Pro customers down.

If Intel had an actual roadmap for high-end 11xxx CPU's within the next couple of months, I could see holding off and waiting. Unfortunately there is a good chance that they're not releasing any pro-grade CPU until this Summer at the earliest, and then there will likely be another crazy feeding frenzy with prices for the new processors skyrocketing the way the GPU prices are at the moment (which is absolutely insane).

Based on what I'm reading here, I think my best bet is the i9-10980XE for around $930, and the Asus Prime X299- A II that is going for around $390. For $1500 including tax and shipping, more than doubling my current cores doesn't seem like a horrible waste of money even if I'm buying into older technology (which is basically the entire Intel lineup right now).

Thanks.

No changelog for 3405 :(

Any unofficial sources for it?

Just updated and so far so good. Looks like they added resizable bar support but not sure what else has changed. Make sure Above 4G Encoding is enabled and resizable bar support is Disabled

Edit: Looks like the Deluxe II and Extreme Omega have updated BIOS too. Assuming it's just resizable bar support

What SSDTs do you have? you most likely need SSDT-RTC0.aml along with BIOS Settings Above 4G Encoding enabled, Disable CSM, and MSR Lock Control disabled

Thunderbolt with Thunderbolt Bus support

Hello everyone,

I'm looking for some help, most of my installation is complete, the only important thing I'm still lacking is Tb support. USB-c behaves inconsistently, sometimes my drive is detected, sometimes it is not. But I've never got my system to the point where I could see anything in this section:

I used @CaseySJ 's aml from another thread per recommendations to another member using configuration very similar to mine, and that enabled me to activate:

with the following files:

and this configuration changes:

But the Thunderbolt/USB4 is always empty.

Any help is greatly appreciated,
Thank you.
