That's just perfect! A massive thank you. I didn't want to press on until I know the Motherboard was compatible.

I have Big Sur installed on one NVME (Sabrent) and Catalina on the other NVME (Evo 970). So I am just creating the new X299 EFI. The Z390 EFI works perfectly on my two other builds, a AS Rock Pro 4 Z390 / Intel i5 9400 and a Rog Strix Mini Z390 / Intel i7 9700 but of course a new config / and relevant ACPI files are required for the X299. May go for a clean install of Big Sur though for the X299 dark.

Had a Z390 Dark which ran Big Sur flawlessly (everything working) but I stupidly broke the board. When I came to chose another board for the X299 I went for the Dark again.

Will get everything posted when all is complete, hopefully next week.

Thanks again.

I might try ... but I'm still hesitating because I have no feedback...

Still can't get Shutdown to work (it keeps restarting).

Does not work in Big Sur or Catalina.

It used to work without me doing anything back in Catalina 10.15.4

EDIT: I realized Windows also has the same issue, so it definitely was a BIOS related issue.

Hi Guys,
I wanted to turn my computer into a Hackintosh.
Unfortunately, I can't find anyone on the Internet who has already got it done with my motherboard.
Should I upgrade to a new motherboard?
I created a bootable USB stick under Windows and I also get into the MacOS installation menu.
I am using OpenCore 0.6.5
But my WIFI / BT card that worked out of box on my Ryzen7 Hackintosh a year ago doesn't work anymore and I don't have a mouse and only the arrow keys, tabulator and space bar work on my keyboard.
Before I can choose a hard drive to install, my PC freezes.

I hope you can help me, because I don't get an answer in the German forum.
thanks

i think @Ellybz has some good experience with x299 gigabyte mobo's, i think you can find his EFI in some older post, and use as a base EFI.

here is also a gigabyte x299 EFI from @Loloflatsix github:

Completed the installation of Big Sur Opencore 0.6.5 on the EVGA Dark X299 / i9 7980XE. More complicated, I'd say, compared with previous Z390 / Z270 builds.

Thanks again to @Loloflatsix for confirming that the EVGA bios (he has the X299 FTWK) looked compatible and for his EFI which allowed me to boot into Catalina (but not Big Sur) ...so I could make the Big Sur EFI on my main PC.

Sleep, handoff, iMessage, BT/Wifi, Airdrop, Sleep etc. all work perfectly. Very happy with the EFI I created although it took a good few hours. Boot times from picker in 14 seconds, never seen OSX boot times as quick as that before.

Cinebench R23 at 19,500 stock (24,200 O/c).

Still to fix:
- Memory configuration (waiting for some new memory to arrive) and USB port mapping
- NVRAM ...as it defaults to Windows in the picker

You're gonna need the latest OpenCore for Big Sur.

- Memory configuration (waiting for some new memory to arrive) and USB port mapping
Use the new RestrictEvents kext and it will fix your memory configuration errors. No need to add anything to the config.plist anymore. (Make sure Custom Memory is disabled in the plist).

Note this is for MacPro7,1 SMBIOS.

- NVRAM ...as it defaults to Windows in the picker

Go to System Preferences > Startup Disk > Unlock and pick your macOS disk and lock the tab again, it will bless macOS to be the default OS.

If you get some type of NVRAM error, you need to fix that.
