Hi. I was hoping for some advice on my list of parts for my first hackintosh.

I am building this for music production and since I am new to the subject of hackintosh I hope to avoid as many problems as possible in the setup of OS X Yosimite. I have read quite a substantial amount on the forums and consulted with the few people I know who could give me advice.

I know some of these parts don't exist on the lists of compatible parts on this site. That is why I am worried about running into problems.

These are the parts I have suggested for my build:

ASUS Z97-DELUXE (1150)

Intel Core-i7 4790K

HyperX Fury DDR3 1600MHz 16GB Black (2x8GB)

Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD

Seagate Barracuda 1TB HDD

Forton AURUM CM Series 650W, 80 Gold, Modular.

Fractal Design Define R5 Case

Any advice is highly appreciated. :)

I don't have any experience with the ASUS board, however a quick search of the site indicates that it has been used in other successful builds. The rest of the hardware should be fine.

Looks rather similar to what I am looking to build. Nice choices especially the case. Any reason to go with the asus Z97 deluxe over one of the lower end asus Z97's?

Thanks!
I like that it has integrated wifi and bluetooth plus the ton of usb ports. I got a nice price on it too at my local dealer. have been researching a bit and Im still worried Im gonna run into problems with the asus Z97-deluxe, the hyperX ram and the PSU though. Cant figure out if its a pretty straight forward install process or lots of hackin to do. I really want an easy and stable running build. I dont dare bying the hardware unless I am sure of that. there is a lot of confusing stuff written on these forums so i cant really figure it out :p please let me know if you know.

Makes sense if you got a nice deal. I have concerns with some of the extra bells and whistles on these motherboards not be compatible with OSX. Almost seems like sometimes you are further ahead to have a very bare bones motherboard and add in the cards and usb dongles that best work.

Lots of information to read on here to best figure out your game plan. Some of the user success builds give the best overall content in step by step instructions.

These would be my choice threads to read (chances are you may have already)

While this is the pro, not deluxe... good info here too

Yeah some nice reading there. You probably have a good point when it comes to the extra bells and whistles. I am now looking at the ASUS Z97-A instead. I will save a lot of money on that and I think it will do for my use. What hardware are you looking at for your build?

Looking at that exact motherboard ASUS Z97-A :headbang:

Video card wise Nvidia GTX 970.

Though I do have my concerns on the lack of ASUS Z97 success stories vs Gigabyte Z97 ones, but that could also be based on that more people on here go for the Gigabytes.

Funny you should say. Actually I decided today to go for a Gigabyte GA Z97X-UD3H for that reason. I also swapped my ram and PSU for brands that are known to work best with OS X Yosemite. This became a cheaper build with no lack of preformance. I really wanted an ASUS motherboard but I think a Gigabyte board will be a safer bet. My hardware will be ready for me to pick up some time next week. Pretty exiting! but now the wait...:beachball:
