CASE: [h=1]Fractal Design Define R5 (if it fit :))[/h]
I've already helped a bit my friend doing kinda same machine so I'm pretty sure everything will work, I just have a couple of question:

In case i will add in the near future a second gtx 980 do i have to do something different to what i did with the 1st or, since is exactly same model it's already everything ready for it?

I've read that the processor have 40 pin, does it support the second gpu at 16x? or it will go at 8x?Will it make slower my 1st GPU? (i do not intend to do sli as resolve don't really need/like it)

Will everything fit in my case? Mobo - Power Supply - GPU (in case of one and in case of 2)? Cause I think the case is not that small but you know..is the case that choose the wizard :)

Other Ram Suggestion? in case i will need to upgrade to 64 GB? (will be better to buy 2 16gb than 4x8gb?)

Thank you all so much, been crazy following this forum and taking so much experience

According to Asus, this Motherboard supports 2x PCIe x16 for your graphics card!

Have the Define R5 myself... it is so huge you can almost build a second PC in it. :D (But it looks very sleek and is very silent )

The motherboard has quad channel support so going with 4 RAM slots will yield better performances.

If you plan to overclock your CPU be sure to get a better cooling solution. They will also improve the lifetime of your precious i7. I can totally recommend Noctua Air Cooling Solutions (I have the NH-D15). They build top-notch products!

Thank you so much!! that's some pretty good advice!
I will definitely go with the noctua :)

Do you think i will have to remove some hd bay to fit gtx 980 witch is rumored to be a pain in the a** for the size?are them removable singly?

thank you again!!!

My GTX 970 is not that huge and has enough space left. I guess it depends on the graphics card size! You can remove the tray like this:

Do you already know what GTX 980 you want to buy? The official website says: "Graphics cards up to 310 mm in length with the top HDD cage installed; with the top cage removed, graphics cards up to 440 mm in length may be installed"

I'm gonna buy this one:

http://www.amazon.it/Gigabyte-Gamming-Scheda-Video-PCIe/dp/B00NZRCHJM/ref=sr_1_cc_1?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1422897697&sr=1-1-catcorr&keywords=gigabyte+980+g1
It's a bit more expensive but it has a pleasing cooling system..
Also I'm wondering if I will use the Noctua NH-D15 will it cover any PCIe port? or prevent me to install a dual gtx980 plus tp link and a decklink card in the PCIe ports?[h=1]Noctua NH-D15Noctua NH-D15[/h]

Hi!

I'm looking to do a very similar build soon and was wondering how your set up is going and if you have any advice?

Also what cooling system did you end up going with?

Cheers:D

hiii, did u manage to run 2 GPUS at 16x on that Motherboard? im looking to build a hackintosh for Davinci resolve and cant find a mother board to run 2 gpus at 16x even after adding the video out card to monitor on a broadcast monitor. already have 2 GTX titan Gpus.
