Works great!! Except every few hours of use it freezes

Help forum experts please bestow your knowledge on my USB issue!

My 10.10.5 customac build is working great, except for random freezes that I think are being caused by the USB devices

I followed the tonymac guide for building the mATX and am using:

Gigabyte GA-Z97MX-GAMING 5

Core i5-4690K

EVGA GT 740 SC

Crucial Ballistix Tactical (16GB)

Samsung 850 EVO 120GB


I used the multibeast + unibeast install and everything has been working great EXCEPT after plugging in a USB device. I've been using a mac keyboard with USB mouse dongle attached, a USB to my printer, and added a USB microphone today. After about 10 mins using the mic, it just froze again. I am using the USB 2.0 slots on the MB and I checked the 'use USB 3.0' option in unibeast when setting up.

Help please! I have no idea what to do with the various bootloaders or KEXTS, etc.

Remove GenericUSBXHCI, perhaps that will resolve your issue.

Have a look at this threat for guidance.

So if I read that post correctly, I just run this command from the Terminal window?

sudo rm -R /System/Library/Extensions/GenericUSBXHCI.kext/
