works a Intel Core i3-2100 in a GA-Z77-DS3H with ML?

Hi tonymacx86,

for small Money, in the "Ivy Bridge CustoMac Budget Build Rubric" is the INTEL Core i5 3570K.

I wont this (for smaller Money):

Gigabyte Intel Z77 LGA 1155 Dual UEFI BIOS ATX Motherboard GA-Z77-DS3H
CPU 1155 INTEL Core i3-2100 3,1GHz 3MB 5.0GT/s 65W Box
Can this work with ML? The integrated i3-GPU is only a HD2000.

HD2000 is not support oob in ML, so you may have a problem with your graphic card.

Only HD3000 and HD4000 is supported oob.

Or do you use a different graphic card?

Hi madman1234,

no i´m not using a different Graphic card. The PC-Mac is not for Gaming or another High End Graphics. I think the trick for running a ML on PC-Hardware is the right Graphic card. My old PC, a ACER Veriton M265 with a Intel E5400 CPU and Intel onBoard Graphic (not working under Lion and ML) with a Geforce 210 - 1024MB works with Mountain Lion. But the Installation is tricky, first installed Lion with a Geforce 7600GT, then change the Graphic Card to Geforce 210 (under LION), then update to ML and juhu! its works for the moment, without Sound (sound only with a generic USB-Soundcard) and without Energysaver.
But I think, a new ML-compatible Board with a new CPU and onBoard Graphic is a better Choice as only buying a new Geforce.... for my old Acer PC.
Now im looking for a i5 CPU.
