I initially had my setup working fine on 10.7.1 but without sound as I was not interested in onboard sound so I didn't install any voodooHDA stuff. I did have to add my 5750's device id to the ATI5000Controller.kext to get video working properly. Then to enable HDMI audio I only had to do the HDMI DSDT edit and it worked. I really appreciate the info on this forum. It made the process very easy.

Are you sure??? Your motherboard's audio is not ALC so can you be more specific?

I'm not enabling the onboard. I only have the default AppleHDA.kext and then the hdmi audio dsdt edit to enable the port on my video card. The only thing I have in the output tab of the sound preferences panel is the HDMI out

Congratulations. This is the first I've heard of HDMI audio in Lion without on board (that was alway the case in Snow Leopard). I haven't tried 10.7.1 but I'm sure I'll be able to confirm your success.

Hi,
Yes I'm in the same situation (see my post here: http://tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?p=87580#p87580).
I'd like to obtain both but I think it's not possible with this onboard audio.

There are no options in your case. I have confirmed that working on board audio is not a requirement for working HDMI audio in 10.7.1 (different from 10.7). So you can have HDMI audio without on board audio.

Here is a recent post on your codec http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?s=&showtopic=201699&view=findpost&p=1736026. As well, here is the best guide to brew your own solution http://www.projectosx.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=465. With respect to the new AppleHDA.kext structure, all the work is the same, it just goes to different places. Sorry, we couldn't be more helpful.
