Won't Shutdown - P67A-UD3-B3 - what is the DSDT fix or kext

Just built a

GA-P76A-UD3-B3
i7-2600

10.6.8 clean install.
Everything works great but not shutdown.

Won't shutdown.

restart works and everything else too. awesome system.

Am using DSDT from the database and bios matches the DSDT (F4)

Tried adding EVORBOOT to /e/e but still won't shutdown.

Is there a new DSDT edit required or some other kext or something else I am missing?

I have the same mobo and CPU, different graphics card. I didn't have to add any kexts to get sleep or shutdown working. Can you tell us what you added from MultiBeast.

What specifically is in the Extra/Extensions folder? Did you add any other kexts trying to fix the shutdown issue?

Hmmm, I didn't need to use NullPowerManagement.kext....I suggest removing it and running system utilities and see if that solves the shutdown issue. If not and any other issues occur, you can always re-install it.

The ALC889 is only for non-DSDT and I didn't need EvOrBoot either FWIW.

My Extra/Extensions contains:

FakeSMC, ALC8xxHDA, IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector, JMicro36xATA, NVEnabler (for my 8400GS card) and

SuperIOFamily +ACPIMonitor +IntelCPUMonitor which are installed by FakeSMCPlugins

Thanks again for your feedback. Just knowing your system works was enough to give me my confidence back.

I swapped the psup = nochange

I made the changes you suggested for /e/e and reflashed the bios.

Now everything is working; sleep, restart, and shutdown.

I am using the Legacy889HDA.kext because I find it works a little better than the new generic one.

With the older one the front headphone jack works. It didn't work when I used the generic one. Does it work for you? The front mic still doesn't work but it never has.
