Wondering how much the specific OC, SC, SSC, ACX, G1, etc matters with GPU compatibility.

Hi guys. I've looked through about a hundred threads and can't find anything about it. I want to get a 980 ti video card and I've noticed that there are only two cards listed on the buyer's guide. Obviously I would go with those 2 companies of cards... But I have found much better deals on different versions of those cards with "OC, SSC, SC+, Gaming" etc. should I worry about compatibility or does it just matter that my card is either made by Gigabyte/EVGA? I've noticed that other cards in the buyer's guide are extremely specific to those things. Help is appreciated. Thanks.

OC = OverClocked
SC = SuperClocked

All these designators say is that the factory has taken the base nVidia reference speeds and overclocked the GPU at the factory. Saves you the trouble of doing it yourself, yes?

When deciding on a new GPU, look at the reference design. Does your card match the reference design for type/number/placement of connection ports? Does it use the same chips? If yes, then it will likely work even if the OEM has changed the clock speeds and modified the cooling system to be more efficient.
