[WIP] 2006 20" iMac Intel case mod.

Bluetooth and Wifi working in Monterey 12.4 via USB. And I didn't have to disable SIP in recovery and compromise my builds security.

@craighazan , I have used these 1 to 4 splitters with mining risers on a standard single-slot Mini-ITX to get 4 PCIE-16x slots for GPU mining... I wonder if it would work in the M.2 E slot adapter so you could use a PCIE wifi/BT and a video card?

Thanks Phunguss, would love to see a pic of your mining setup. I'm going to use the RX 560 in the M.2 E key slot, but I am intrigued by what else this slot can do. Also just finished stripping the iMac back to its frame.

Wondering if I can reuse this fan from inside the iMac, fascinating shape.

Not six, no not even eight, but seven screws to attach the hinge to the stand, seven!.

Half way there!, The H310T is proving to be extremely good, I'm not using the RX560 at the moment which free's up the M.2 E key socket. UHD630 looks smooth and sharp on my HDMI only hp 27f, not as good as DP on the 27" Dell, but I'm not planning on using either of those outputs for the build. I'm covering the details of the 'Second Half' on another thread.

Bluetooth is working!, happily using my Magic Mouse and some 3rd party wireless keyboard, adding that iMac feel. Total dimensions of this build, from CPU base plate to the top of the Engine 27 is 47mm and 170mm x 170mm, that's a nice form factor and would look nice standing alone on its side, like a Nintendo Wii.

The screen, not sure which direction to take tbh, I have been reading threads on Insanely mac and here searching 'eDP'. I do know the H310T can be switched to AIO chassis in BIOS, enabling the LVDS slot, at 1080 though. Then checking the Pin definition manual, I discovered on the back of the LVDS slot is a 40 pin eDP socket, the same socket as a 27" 2560 x 1440 Apple Thunderbolt Display, there are many on eBay. Another option I was made aware of thanks to trs96, is this 40 pin eDP TO HDMI Adapter, very clever. Which path do I take?.

$100 and perfect condition, think I need a thunderbolt to USB C adapter to get it started.

I found it on Craigslist earlier, 25 minute drive away. I'm amazed I heard back, it was listed 17 days ago. I looked at eBay but the delivery, in some cases, was close to $100 and I was worried they wouldn't travel well. So I checked Craigslist and got in touch.
