Windows laptops and Modern Standby problems

S3 sleep (suspend to ram) is not enabled on many current Windows laptops. S0 sleep (modern standby) is the default. It can lead to completely drained batteries and overheating. Linus talks about some potential fixes but also says that it's Microsoft's job to provide a fix for this.
For now he suggests that his viewers buy Macbooks and stop using Windows laptops. We'll see how long that lasts. Maybe he'll start suggesting that his viewers "hackintosh" their Windows laptops. Not likely.
