Will the Intel 6 Core i7-3930K run?

Should I buy a 6 Core i7-3930K and a 2011 Gigabyte board, or just get a 2700k CPU? I can not find a clear answer as to whether this mobo/CPU will be Mac compatible.

If you need to buy now, I don't recommend getting the 3930K and the corresponding motherboards as I don't think it is supported by Mac OSX Lion at this point. I have no proof of this myself but it seems reasonable to assume that it is not supported since Apple has not made use of them in any Mac so far.
