Anyone know if I will have an issue updating to Catalina with my setup?

You can run Big Sur 11.6.2 with your Titan Z card, using the native Nvidia drivers.

Coughcough,
I may very well be an intruder or off topic, so bear with me: I see you are discussing here the compatibility of nVidia cards with all those geo-tagged OSx from the notorious fruit vendor but my question is What About the Big Feline versions?

I'm still using quite well all my Mountain Lion 10.8.5 machines, both Hackintosh and native ones. I actually do not like the newest GUI style: they were so innovative creating a subtle 3D environment, and now they are flatting it out.
Shameful really, besides all the fences they are introducing preventing the user to actually control the machine: all those routines are now implemented for your security, of course! but the impression you get is that is the machine using you, i'n'it?:shh:

Anyhow, I'm also using other OSs that will take full advantage of i.e. the GTX 1070 OC 8GB on the UEFI machines: is that at all possible to have them working under 10.8.5?

As a last choice I will connect both the HDMI from the Intel Z77 integrated graphics and the nVidia discrete graphics to the same monitor: will it work or will I have to remove the card altogether?

Anyone had this setup going under the older OS?

No chance that Mt. Lion 10.8.5 will work. It has no support for a 1070. Your GTX 670 will work.

Look at the late 2012 iMac that came with Mt. Lion pre-installed.

Shows you that they were using 600 series Kepler mobile dGPUs in the iMac 27" so it has to work.
You also have the option to use a better 700 series card like a GTX 780 if you can find one.

I'm trying to run 11.6.4 with a Kepler-based card, GTX 770 -- worked flawlessly in Catalina and now I'm getting a display glitch -- feels like a memory leak as it doesn't happen for days after a reboot.

I've tried setting shikigva=40, to no avail as I saw WhateverGreen isn't providing some functionality in Big Sur (according to acidanthera/WhateverGreen). I also tried "defaults write com.apple.coremedia hardwareVideoDecoder -string force" which makes no difference.

This card should be supported...I'm using a 15,1 system definition for a GA-Z97-UD7 TH motherboard with an i7-4790K CPU.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Well, I'd like to report that I'm still stuck (in both senses) with this Asus ROG GTX 1070 Strix build I'm working on.
The odd thing that almost surprised me I was able to boot up to the login screen with all successive screens in full HD resolutions, but in Single Mode and when I proceeded to select a user to enter the password and load the Finder both mouse and keyboard were not working.
I'm not sure, but this lead me to think I can still operate the Graphic Board under Mountain Lion, even if possibly I will not be able to exploit its full potentials.
I still need the card installed to use the simulators under windows...
