Will Mavericks run on EP45 and Q9650

Hi folks

I would like to build a hackintosh setup running Mavericks for my girlfriend and I have the following hardware:

Gigabyte EP45-DS4
Intel Q9650
8 GB Ram (4x 2 GB)
nVidia 8600 GT, ATi Radeon X1950 Pro or HD 3850 256 MB

Is it possible to do a clean Mavericks install on the above setup and if so, which gfx would be preferable to use?

I don't see why not. I suggest you use the 8600GT.

While it is not exactly the same mobo, but very similar:

I have also installed Maverick on one computer with this motherboard, and worked absolutely fantastic. Geekbench scored around 8000, which is well above current i3 CPU level.

I managed to install Mavricks yesterday but ran into some odd problems... :/

Setup completed without issues but upon restart bios was forked and was restored from the "backup-dualbios-thing".
Still the system was able to boot into Mavericks from USB with stock bios settings. I made another reboot, without touching anything in Mav, and change bios settings (AHCI etc.).
Then I ran MultiBeast and tried some of the settings from the above thread but the system froze a couple of times...

Oh, and the rig is as follows:

Q9650
GB EP45-DS4
8 GB Ram
8600 GT 512 MB (seemingly detected correct in OS)
Older 64 GB Corsair SSD
DVD-RW @ sata
