We’ve traced the problem to base address registers (BAR) getting zeroed out for PCI devices other than GPU and USB. This should allow us to determine where in the code it’s happening. Based on the finding, we may be able to create a patch. But I want to temper expectations for the time being (i.e. we should not get ahead of ourselves).

Thanks for the update Casey!, It’s fascinating reading about the process and work that goes into making something hackintosh’able!

Fascinating indeed… but let's throw some ice water on those who'd like to jump:
For now, all versions of macOS suffer from garbled audio on Ryzen 7000 (no solution in sight).
Other than audio, Big Sur does work.
With Monterey and Ventura, PCIe devices do NOT work, except for the GPU: No M.2 drive; no networking! @CaseySJ is making great progress investigating the issue, but there is still no solution.

For now @backinblackx86 should have followed his vote ("won't work") rather than his gut instinct. :(

Lol, I must have accidentally touched the wrong option, darn touch screens!
Please keep us up-to date with your build, would love to know how it’s going.

Haven’t even tried a boot POST yet but looking good. I am taking my time, reading all the manuals, and double checking. The specs are as follows:

1) AMD Ryzen 9 7950X
2) ASUS ROG CROSSHAIR X670E EXTREME “Gaming Motherboard”
3) PNY NVIDIA A6000 (for CUDA ffmpeg and Stable Diffusion on LINUX)
4) (insert AMD R6000 series GPU for OSX FCPX video editing, will iGPU work?)
5) 1x WD 850X NVMe SSD 2TB, want to buy a second one for either a dual boot setup, or scratch disks)
6) Crucial 64GB (2x32GB) DDR5-4800 UDIMM 1.1V CL40 (Will go 128 if stable)
7) Noctua NH-D15 CPU Cooler
8) SeaSonic Prime TX-1000 PSU
9) LIAB LI O11 Dynamic XL Case
10) 2X 20TB WD Enterprise HDDs (For RAID1) Might buy two more for a redundancy in different file systems.

Did I forget anything?
This build is for work station and web server use, AI model training, encoding RMTP into LL-HLS from multiple simultaneous live PTZ camera NDI sources, maybe some Counter Strike and Half Life, and Flight sims. Lol, whatever else I can think of. My buddy has some ideas, he is the developer of Scum.co AI image generator.

@backinblackx86

You mentioned your friend is the developer of an AI image generator. Are you a programmer/developer as well?

While I can follow along with your detailed posts over at AMD-osx, I’m an A/V and Broadcast Systems and workflow technician utilizing Linux and Mac for custom solutions. I did learn some C++ but never kept up with it.

Added two additional HDDs for a total of Four: 2x WD 14TB + 2x 20TB. Pulled a NVMe Ubuntu Server boot drive and a couple SSDs out of another system to test booting MacOS BigSir. This board is killer, very high quality.

No.

NVMe works with Big Sur. For Monterey/Ventura, get a SATA SSD.
10) 2X 20TB WD Enterprise HDDs (For RAID1) Might buy two more for a redundancy in different file systems.
If you need to access the data from different OS, I suggest putting these drives in a NAS rather than directly in the workstation.
