Hi guys,

I'm planning on buying a HP Probook 430 G2 and transform it in a hackintosh. While I was documenting this on tonymacx86 I have found that the wifi card of this laptop is not compatible with osx 10.10 and needs to be replaced.

From what I can see one of the recommended replacement is AzureWave BCM94352HMB but is causing the fan of the laptop to spin at high rpm all the time.

Did anyone found a fix for this or can recommend another wifi card that is working properly with Yosemite?

ps: Also a short question...the laptop comes standard with 1x 4GB DDR3, if i add besides the memory stick that is already on the laptop another module but with 8GB DDR3 will it work with yosemite or this can cause trouble?

Thanks

Are You sure that the fan speed increase is caused by the replaced wifi?

You can find the compatible wifi chip list here: http://www.tonymacx86.com/hp-proboo...-install-yosemite-hp-laptops-clover-uefi.html

That memory extension could cause trouble(if the timings are not the same or the frequency), i would recommend to buy an exact same and put that in the second slot.

I'm also planning to buy a 430 G2 (Broadwell - Version). I read a lot of stuff and also the HP Service Manual. As far as I researched the AzureWave BCM94352HMB want work with the 430 G2, because third-party WiFi Cards are blocked by the bios.

The HP service manual states that there only these cards compatible:

Atheros AR9485 802.11b/g/n 1x1 WiFi Adapter (HP spare number 675794-001)

Realtek RTL8188EE 802.11bgn Wi-Fi Adapter (HP spare number 709848-001)

Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160 802.11 ac 1x1 WiFi + BT 4.0 combo adapter (HP spare number 710662-001)

Broadcom BCM943228HMB 802.11abgn 2x2 Wi-Fi Adapter + Broadcom Bluetooth 4.0 Adapter (HP spare number 730668-001)

Broadcom BCM43142 802.11 bgn 1x1 Wi-Fi + BT4.0 HMC combo adapter (HP spare number 753076-001)

Realtek RT8723BE 802.11 bgn 1x1 Wi-Fi + BT4.0 combo adapter(HP spare number 753077-001)

Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 802.11 ac 2x2 WiFi + Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 BT 4.0 combo
adapter (HP spare number 756753-001)

Is any of these cards compatible with a hackintosh? The HP Probook Yosemite Guide says none of these cards will work.

What can we do to get a working wifi + bluetooth with this laptop. Any ideas? Is any other Wifi-Bluetooth card confirmed as compatible?

Hope someone has an idea. Thanks a lot.

...because third-party WiFi Cards are blocked by the bios.

You have confirmed this how?

The HP service manual states that there only these cards compatible:

Is any of these cards compatible with a hackintosh?

No.

No confirmation, but nearly in every description of the card at amazon or ebay it states "No include HP / Lenovo" - for example here http://www.amazon.com/Azurewave-AW-CE123H-BCM94352HMB-PCI-express-Bluetooth/dp/B00O5SBWZ0/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1437228357&sr=8-2&keywords=azurewave+4352

Vendor "CYA"...

Do you think it will work anyway?

Maybe. Recent laptops from HP seem to have no whitelist. You'll know when you try to use the foreign card.

I already got this laptop
and ordered this card

hope i didn't waste my money :|

Your current profile is impossible. Please fix it.

Please provide complete details in your profile/signature
(Profile/Settings link in upper right corner of this site)

System: manufacturer/model + bootloader(Clover/Chameleon/Chimera)
CPU: detailed CPU model + motherboard chipset
Graphics: all graphics devices + laptop internal screen resolution

For example, typical Ivy laptop:
System: HP ProBook 4540s (Clover)
CPU: i5-3320m/HM76
Graphics: HD4000, 1366x768

Use CPU-Z on Windows to find CPU (Core iX-xxx) and motherboard chipset (HMxx), and graphics capabilities. For a laptop, these details are important and affect critical installation procedures.
