Hi :
I have a msi radeon hd 6770 ... with the new Mountain lion 10.8.3 i reflash my card to the original bios (6770) not 5770 .... and I add the device ID (0x68ba1002) to
the three original mac kext
beside the 5770 id ...
:

AMDRadeonAccelerator
ATI5000Controller
ATI6000Controller

now it's work like charm DVD player work .. openGL.. Geekbensh ... and i got score 850 in Unigine-Heaven ... but i have two notes :

1- it's shows Ati Radeon HD 5000 Series in "About this Mac" ....
I tried all buffers in AtiConfig and still shows
Ati Radeon HD 5000 Series ...

2- Which is better for my 6770
(GraphicsEnabler=yes or no) ...
I tried the both and I did not notice any difference ...
My current org.chameleon.Boot.plist :

So ... thanks for your help ...

No one can help me !!!!!!!!! :?:

Hi

Did you make other changes to the 3 Graphics kext other than adding your GPU device ID#?.I updated to 10.8.3 then I added my device ID for my ASUS HD 6770 1GB Card to same 3 Vanilla kexts as you did. my system boots fine with GraphicsEnabler=Yes and the card shows up as a HD 6700 Series in the system info.. but now my system no longer has QE/CI enable as it did in 10.8.2... plus my card no longer shows up in openGL Viewer. Apple Software Renderer is the only thing that shows up

No ..
I attached the 3 kexts ... the one problem I have (in all mountain lion versions) that it's show ATI Radeon hd 5000 in system info ...
everything else work like charm and i have a full QE/CI enable better than 10.8.2 .... (with or without GraphicsEnabler) ... maybe your Asus Differs a little from my MSI ???????
sorry for my bad english .....

The best solution to sort out any graphics card problem is to use a DSDT and inject the graphics into that. While you are at it, you may as well inject audio and all your other devices. Whether you have a UEFI motherboard or not, DSDT is still the best way to enable all hardware to it's fullest potential. Use google and you will find tons of advice on doing just that. You will only find sketchy quick-fixes here that fall apart after updates or just paper over cracks. DSDT editing does not feature all that much on this forum, which is why so many people have such trivial issues.

Thanx a lot for U  .. I use a dsdt for my Asus P5KR, and I tried inject the graphics ... it's the same
note : i dont have a real problem with my MSI hd 6770 (I really don't care about what in the "about this mac" HD5000 Series or HD6770 .. ) because it's work in 100% with full OpenGl Support...
but my real question is :
Which is better for my 6770 (GraphicsEnabler=yes or no) ...
I tried the both and I did not notice any difference ...my card works in both in same way !!!!!!

They should both perform the same. The only problem without GraphicsEnabler=Yes is that your card is not recognized by the system. DVD Player crashes and most apps using the video card's name foe id purposes fail. That does not seem to be an issue in 10.8.3 thogh, but I would recommend using graphicsenabler anyway. It's a fail-safe method which can be trusted, since the developers who code Chameleon (which is what Chimera is copied from) know their stuff.
