I've had this build for a few years and it was pretty solid in the beginning. Now the two main issues I'm having:
Almost daily my onboard NIC will stop passing traffic. I resolve the issue with ifconfig en0 down/up and it's back to normal. I have also had issues with uploading files via web pages and sites like facebook messenger. This is mainly a digital audio workstation so it doesn't get browsed on a lot. It's main use is to run Logic X 10.1.1
Less frequently but even more annoying, the operating system will freeze up. I get the spinning "thinking" icon as a mouse cursor. Can't open programs, or apple menu to quit programs. I have to restart to resolve this. Not 100% confirmed and doesn't happen every time but it seems like when I leave chrome open it's more likely to freeze.
I've looked through the logs and don't see anything obvious. Where else can I look? I thought I remember reading that there's a cache of some sort that can cause issues?
I really really don't want to go through rebuilding this
Any help is greatly appreciated.
OS X 10.9.5 (13F34) Mavericks

CPU: I7 4790K (4.19 GHZ)
RAM: 16GB (2x8) CRUCAL BLT2K8G3D1608ET3LX0 (probably throw fill the other 2 slots with this as well)
HDD: 500GB WD WD5003AZEX
