What's Your Favorite Text Editor? (Besides TextEdit)

I use aptana the most, but when in need of just a text editor I use text wrangler.

Textwrangler all the way for me.

Killer feature is "Compare 2 Front Documents" for checking DSDT.dsl files and comparing unpatched and patched versions - that and the easy feature of applying the differences from one document to the other are just the best.....

I understand everybody here talks about coding so, for that regard I'm using TextWrangler for unformatted basic text editing and format conversion (such as UTF8 or else when needed), but for notes of all kind (i.e. basic text editing with bold, italics and the like without all the fancies of Mike's Word), I've adopted Bean after being a Tex-Edit fan for years.

Which text editor(s) has "column mode" selection, cut & paste ???

I don't know what the right word for that is, but imagine you have a text file with lots of similar lines (a list or database, if you will), and the fields are separated by spaces or tabs. "Column mode" or "vertical" selection/cut/paste allows me to select/cut/paste only a single column of data fields...

I wonder if I was clear enough...

My top 3:
1. vi
2. vi
3. vi

Sublime Text 2.
