What's up with this Geforce NOW?

Ok I'm confused.
From what I could understand, nvidia decided that they will.. use there own gtx card and let you play through a cloud server or something..?

I mean, it's wierd.
If they managed to make it work with macOs, why don't they just give us a support for the GTX 1000 series?
And if not, I'm completely confused..

Btw, do you think that it means that they just gave up while they tried to do this support? and that's the reason why they start with this new Geforce Now thing...

If so.. it's means that we won't see any support at the mean time...

It's just a streaming service. You can play games on any device like that, because all heavy calculations are done in the Nvidia "cloud".
It's basically just a live video stream which you can control from your computer, so you won't need any special hardware or graphics drivers on your local system.
