I recently started to wire up my front panel and after botching the original PCB i got a used front panel and been taking parts off to use instead with plans to epoxy them to the front panel as cleanly as possible. Along with my USB and Audio i got a Fire Wire cable and thinking about it i don't have a Firewire port on my Motherboard nor do i think any newer motherboard would have one. Being that Firewire is only slightly slower than USB is there any way to turn the Firewire cable into USB 2.0 and then plug it into my motherboard and to have a firewire to USB hub on externally.
Or should i just install the Firewire cable, not connect it and cut the wire short and use the Firewire slot as a Key Chain holder by taking an older Firewire device and modifying it into a keychain.
