What to do with Clover exactly?

Greetings,

The installation guide says,

"Clover Note: UniBeast delivers basic bootloader support based on our testing on recommended CustoMac systems. For further bootloader customization, download and run the official Clover package."

Run it and choose what? Install it on top of what Unibeast already installed?

I cannot even install Clover on my USB install drive if I wanted to. The Clover installer package says the "EFI bootloader can't be installed on this disk. You can only install this software on the disk that is running macOS."
