I use the Netgear WPN824N as the main switch connected to the modem with an Airport Express access point.

Using ASUS RT-AC68U which is running ASUSWRT-MERLIN

Airport Extreme.

Arris NVG599 (Included by att) as a modem
and an ASUS rc-at1200 as a router
plus a netgear generic 8-port gigabit switch for all my ethernet devices

Got rid of my BT Homehub and bought a Fibre Card turned my HP Elite 8000 in a RAID1 Configuration with pfSense connected via a 1gbp Switch along with a couple 1gbp Intel NICs. Not long put this together ;) Will move it to a rack eventually.

I came in this thread specifically to see if anyone else was using pfSense and found VioletDragon at the end of it. Great job.

I built three of them and couldn't be happier. One at home, one at work replacing our old Netgear UTM which was at end-of-life, and one at the local library which I do consulting IT work for.

The one at home is an ASUS board with Intel Q6600, the other two are i3-somethings. As with the hackintosh, I have pride that yes, I built it myself and have full control over its setup and configuration.
